Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Hairdresser App collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when clients, barbers and prospective users use the app, website, waitlist or support channels.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how the service is used, we may collect account and profile details; barber business, specialty, price, availability and portfolio information; service locations and device location with permission; bookings, notes and status events; payment and payout references supplied by Stripe; reviews, ratings and XP; notification, consent, support and diagnostic records; and waitlist information.
Hairdresser App does not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.
2. How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, operate marketplace profiles and discovery, calculate availability, create and manage bookings, process payments and payouts, protect private addresses, send service notifications, calculate reviews and XP, provide support, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations and improve reliability.
3. Location and address privacy
Device location is requested only with platform permission. Exact barber and client addresses are used privately for booking, routing and service delivery. Before a confirmed paid booking, clients see only an appropriate locality or suburb. Coordinate-derived drive times are estimates unless identified as a live routing-provider result.
4. Payments
Stripe processes payment-card data, authentication and payment methods under its own privacy and security terms. Hairdresser App stores transaction identifiers, amounts, status, fee, refund, tip and payout references needed to operate the marketplace.
5. Service providers and disclosures
Providers may include Supabase for authentication, database, storage and server functions; Stripe for payments and Barber payouts; Expo and Apple or Google platform services for builds and notifications; Resend for transactional email; mapping, geocoding and routing providers; monitoring and support providers; professional advisers; and authorities where required by law. Providers may process information in Australia and overseas where their infrastructure, support teams or subprocessors operate.
6. Public information
A barber's display name, handle, locality, public profile, portfolio, specialties, prices, reviews, rating, XP, availability summary and approved shop imagery may be visible. Exact addresses, private contact details, ABN values, payment details and internal moderation data are not public.
7. Security and retention
Hairdresser App uses access controls, row-level database policies, encrypted transport, server-only secrets and provider security controls. No system is completely secure. Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for marketplace operation, legal and tax obligations, payment reconciliation, safety, fraud prevention and disputes. Public content and data no longer required for those purposes is removed or de-identified after a verified deletion request; restricted records may be retained where reasonably required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
8. Access, correction and deletion
Users can update many details in the app. Requests to access, correct or delete information can be made through the in-app policy screen, the account deletion page, or support. We remove or de-identify information no longer required while retaining restricted records where lawfully necessary.
9. Communications
Transactional booking, payment, safety and account messages are sent as needed. Marketing or waitlist updates are sent only where consent or another lawful basis applies and include an unsubscribe method.
10. Children
Hairdresser App accounts and bookings are intended for adults. A person under 18 may receive a service only where the booking is made or authorised by a parent or guardian. Hairdresser App does not knowingly offer accounts directly to children.
11. Contact
Privacy questions or complaints can be sent to support@gethairdresser.app. We will acknowledge and investigate a complaint within a reasonable period. If it cannot be resolved directly, you may be entitled to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
